Josana Blue

Josana Blue was born and raised in Winthrop, Maine. Josana attended West Virginia University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a major in painting and minors in dance and psychology. After a series of exhibitions in Morgantown, West Virginia Josana moved to New York City where she received her Master’s Degree from New York University with a focus on painting.

Josana has continually exhibited her paintings in numerous galleries and alternative venues both stateside and abroad.  A majority of Josana’s paintings have been purchased for private collections.

Over the years Josana has also developed her talents as a fashion designer. After NYU, she became an apprentice for Craig Robinson, at his Fifth Avenue altelier. Josana received her first formal training in bespoke tailoring techniques here.  Following this experience, Josana worked for a Mary Adams in her Lower East Side boutique sewing custom party and wedding dresses.

Josana applies her design abilities through her daily fashion expressions, custom design for fashionable New Yorkers under her label “Fashion Art NYC,” her line of baby clothes called “East Village Baby,” her accessories including “East Village Opera Gloves” and “Man Ties,” as well as costuming for dance companies and other productions. 

Josana currently lives and works in her studio in Brooklyn, New York.
